The 2011 edition of Guida Blu, the annual guide issued by Legambiente and Touring Club Italiano awarding quality sea and lake vacation spots, selected with strict parameters to spend an enjoyable holiday amongst nature and pristine waters but also gastronomical excellence, breathtaking panoramas’, artistic sites and preserved environment.
Two Apulian locations have been awarded with 5 sails amongst the first fourteen locations in the national classfield – Ostuni and Otranto, both in the Salentine peninsula – while nine others have received 4 sails and are: Diso, Nardò, Andrano, Castro, Gallipoli and Melendugno in the Lecce province; Chieuti in the Foggia province; Monopoli and Polignano a Mare in the Bari province. Other fifteen spots have been awarded with 4 sails, eight with 2 sails and two with 1 sail for a total amount of 36 spots, which allow the “heel of the Italian boot” to confirm the second place in this national contest, right after Sardinia.
